Role overview
This position is an entry point into leadership within Woolworths Group’s store operations. As an Assistant Department Manager, you will help run the department smoothly each day while working alongside the wider store team to deliver a positive shopping experience and a supportive workplace.
You will be guided through the Store Leadership Pathway, gaining foundational leadership capability, department knowledge, and practical exposure that can support your progression into future retail leadership roles.
Work schedule
The roster pattern shared for this role is:
- Tuesday: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- Thursday: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- Friday: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM

- Helping with the day-to-day running of the department.
- Working cross-functionally across the store to support a strong customer experience.
- Supporting team members while building leadership confidence and capability.
- Contributing to a safe store environment by following the correct procedures.
- Using customer-focused behaviors that reflect the Everyday ACTs approach: Acknowledge, Care, and Thank.
