Job description

Job summary

This position supports the Factory Manager in running the day-to-day activities of a wood manufacturing plant. The role is deeply involved in production oversight, CNC woodworking, furniture design, shop drawing preparation, technical drawing checks, cutting list creation, BOM preparation, and coordination from design through production. Prior experience with wooden doors, cabinets, kitchens, wardrobes, and custom-made furniture is essential, along with strong spoken and written English.

Core responsibilities

  • Support the Factory Manager in organizing daily operations, assigning manpower, managing production timing, and prioritizing deliveries.
  • Coordinate the flow of work across CNC, cutting, edge banding, assembly, and production lines for doors, cabinets, kitchens, wardrobes, and other furniture items.
  • Create custom furniture concepts and production-ready designs for cabinets, wardrobes, kitchens, office furniture, wall cladding, and other made-to-order joinery products.
  • Develop detailed shop drawings, production drawings, cutting lists, material schedules, and installation instructions.
  • Build BOMs for each project covering boards, veneers, solid wood, hardware, accessories, glass, aluminum, adhesives, consumables, and finishing materials.
  • Prepare precise cutting lists for MDF, plywood, melamine, veneer sheets, solid wood, back panels, shelves, doors, drawers, and other joinery parts.
  • Compile hardware lists for hinges, drawer runners, handles, locks, lift systems, sliding systems, screws, brackets, and related accessories.
  • Examine architectural, interior design, and shop drawings before production to confirm dimensions, materials, finishes, construction details, hardware, and installation needs are workable.
  • Spot drawing errors, missing information, clashes, material issues, and production risks, then coordinate revisions with the design or project team.
  • Confirm that approved drawings are suitable for manufacturing, CNC programming, purchasing, assembly, packing, delivery, and site installation.
  • Work closely with design, production, procurement, QC, and installation teams so that drawings and materials are ready before production begins.
  • Prepare CNC-ready files and coordinate CNC programs using ArtCAM and PolyBoard.
  • Run, oversee, and troubleshoot CNC woodworking equipment, ensuring the machines are correctly set up before production starts.
  • Track material waste, improve board cutting plans, and help increase production efficiency.
  • Inspect completed items against approved shop drawings, samples, specifications, and quality standards before shipment.
  • Assist site teams with installation drawings, fixing details, and technical explanations whenever needed.
  • Supervise production staff and ensure compliance with safety rules, quality procedures, and factory discipline.
  • Keep track of raw materials, hardware, consumables, tools, and all production needs.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports covering production output, material requirements, wastage, quality, and team performance.
  • Support planning for factory capacity, machine utilization, manpower needs, and production sequencing.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in wood manufacturing, joinery, or furniture production.
  • Hands-on background in wooden doors, cabinets, kitchens, wardrobes, and custom furniture.
  • Strong capability in preparing and reviewing shop drawings, cutting lists, BOMs, hardware schedules, and production details.
  • Solid understanding of furniture construction methods, joinery detailing, materials, hardware, finishes, and installation requirements.
  • Ability to catch technical issues early and recommend practical production fixes before manufacturing begins.
  • Practical experience working with CNC woodworking machines.
  • Working knowledge of ArtCAM and PolyBoard.
  • AutoCAD proficiency is required; familiarity with other furniture design tools is a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The role reports to the Factory Manager.
