Role Overview
We are seeking a diligent and client-oriented Assistant Events Manager responsible for the complete planning and execution of conferences, corporate gatherings, and government projects. This position is tailored for a seasoned professional eager to broaden their ownership over client accounts, uphold project quality standards, and coordinate teams effectively while remaining engaged in the intricate event details that contribute to success.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and nurture client relationships for assigned accounts, handling all stages from initial enquiry through to event completion and feedback.
- Develop and assess quotations, financial budgets, schedules, and comprehensive project plans.
- Coordinate the organization and management of medium to large-scale events including conferences and ceremonies.
- Lead overall project oversight, delegating specific tasks to junior team members and ensuring their successful delivery.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Senior Events Executives and Event Executives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Events on business development initiatives, including pitch preparation and government tender submissions.
- Guarantee compliance with company standard operating procedures and conduct post-event evaluations for ongoing performance improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in managing conferences, corporate events, government functions, or MICE projects.
- Demonstrated capability to lead client account management and oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Strong competencies in project management, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English for proposal creation, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Able to lead junior teammates and maintain calm under pressure.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing government or large-scale conferences hosting 300 or more attendees.
- Background in mentoring staff.
- Familiarity with event management platforms such as GEVME and Microsoft Planner.
