Position Overview
We invite candidates passionate about staying engaged with scientific research to assist researchers globally in publishing their latest findings. The role of Assistant Editor is a full-time position based in Singapore, supporting the editorial process of academic journals in specialized fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the editorial workflow for scholarly journals within your subject expertise
- Coordinate the peer review process for manuscript submissions and facilitate editorial decisions
- Manage communication via email among authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the publication procedure
- Collaborate closely with editorial and production teams to ensure seamless publication
- Ensure precise editing and timely publication of academic articles while maintaining consistency and quality under strict deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Master's degree in fields such as Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Materials Science, Agriculture, Medicine and Pharmacy, Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Linguistics, or Education Science
- Excellent command of MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to handle multitasking with keen attention to detail
- Effective organizational and time management capabilities
- Robust communication and coordination skills
- Experience in research or laboratory settings relevant to academic disciplines
- Familiarity with academic publishing peer-review procedures is preferred
- Professional background in scholarly publishing is advantageous
- Editorial experience is a plus but not mandatory; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
