Role overview
This position is focused on leading end-to-end recruitment for the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS). You will manage a specialist team that sources, engages, and hires experienced technology professionals, while also shaping recruitment strategy, improving policies, and using data to guide senior decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a lean team of talent acquisition specialists so that recruitment work is delivered smoothly from start to finish.
- Build, update, and use hiring dashboards to monitor important performance indicators.
- Analyse wider labour-market movements together with internal attrition trends, then turn the findings into practical reports for senior leaders.
- Assess current recruitment instructions, pay benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks, and help refresh them where needed.
- Spot process bottlenecks and simplify complex workflows while still protecting organisational risk controls.
- Design, test, and roll out new sourcing channels and partnerships with external professional bodies.
Role challenges
- Attracting and securing highly sought-after mid-career technology talent.
- Managing day-to-day hiring delivery while also influencing senior leadership through analytics-led reporting and policy changes.
Requirements
- A qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of full-cycle talent acquisition experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.
- Background in recruiting mid-career or senior-level professionals, including candidate engagement and compensation negotiation.
- Ability to convert ATS information and spreadsheet-based metrics into structured, visually strong presentations for executives.
- Experience preparing recruitment guidelines, SOPs, and wider organisational policy documents.
- Strong command of digital hiring platforms and familiarity with enterprise ATS systems.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills for engaging senior military stakeholders.
- Practical, solutions-driven approach to overcoming institutional process barriers and creating better hiring methods.
