Role overview

The Assistant Director of Education is a leadership position focused on shaping, rolling out, and sustaining clinical learning programs across the organization. The role supports onboarding and ongoing development for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants while helping uphold clinical quality, compliance, and continual improvement.

Reporting line and location

This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is based in Brooklyn, NY.

In partnership with MedElite Healthcare Management Group, the organization focuses on compassionate, individualized care and ongoing innovation in senior care.

Key responsibilities

  • Support provider onboarding and clinical training.
  • Help create standardized learning tools such as training guides, checklists, and competency assessments.
  • Work with the Director of Education to strengthen clinical quality, patient safety, and adherence to best practices.
  • Coordinate Grand Rounds activities, including speaker scheduling and preparation of educational slides and materials.
  • Track continuing medical education needs and help ensure providers can access accredited learning resources, including UpToDate.
  • Identify training gaps using performance results, provider input, and clinical audit findings.
  • Assist with quality improvement work, chart review, and provider evaluation processes.
  • Act as a connector between clinical operations, education, and HR to support smooth onboarding and retention.
  • Coach providers on clinical growth, professional conduct, and patient communication.
  • Partner with physician leaders and medical directors to align education efforts with clinical priorities.
  • Keep training and competency records organized and up to date.
  • Contribute to curriculum design and refinement.
  • Support long-range planning for provider education programs.

Required qualifications

  • Current PA-C or NP license/certification in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Three to five years of clinical experience in a healthcare environment such as primary care, hospital medicine, or a specialty practice.
  • Background in provider education, precepting, or training coordination.
  • Strong planning and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across varied provider groups.
  • Comfort using EMR systems and basic reporting tools such as Excel and LMS platforms.

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience in leadership or educational administration.
  • Exposure to clinical competency frameworks and adult learning methods.
  • Understanding of accreditation and CME workflows.
  • International medical graduate or foreign medical graduate background.
  • Clinical or healthcare background.
  • Advanced education or certification in medical education, leadership, or healthcare administration is a plus.

Compensation and benefits

The total annual compensation for this position is $105,000 to $110,000.
