The role is based in Melbourne CBD and offers a hybrid arrangement with 2 to 3 work-from-home days each week. The advertised salary is $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation.

What you will do

  • Negotiate trading terms, pricing, order volumes, and exclusive supply arrangements with producers based overseas.
  • Prepare, monitor, and refine a category plan for the imported wine range using data and commercial performance insights.
  • Track market and consumer trends to uncover new premium opportunities and category gaps.

Success measures

  • Deliver growth in revenue and margin across the imported wine portfolio.
  • Build a reliable pipeline of exclusive and appealing international producers.
  • Support strong category health by improving sell-through, stock turnover, and customer satisfaction.
  • Become a trusted internal specialist for the wine category.

What will help you succeed

  • Background in wine buying, category management, or procurement, with direct import or supply-chain exposure considered highly valuable.
  • Solid wine knowledge combined with a commercial mindset and the ability to use data to guide decisions.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills across different cultures and time zones.
  • Excellent organisation, forecasting ability, and inventory planning capability.
  • Authentic enthusiasm for wine and international beverage trends.
