Job description
Role Overview
This leadership position entails overseeing the lifecycle asset management team, including managing fleet, planning maintenance and replacements, and budget oversight for these operations. The role combines hands-on leadership with team coordination responsibilities. Key tasks include implementing innovative asset health and risk modeling, creating long-term plans exceeding 20 years, establishing and enforcing maintenance and replacement program standards, and ensuring assets comply with performance metrics such as safety, operability, and service criteria.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a skilled team of Asset Managers including a Senior Asset Manager.
- Plan asset lifecycle activities covering maintenance, replacement strategies, and financial planning.
- Utilize data analytics and advanced software tools to optimize asset performance.
- Maintain adherence to applicable industry regulations and internal quality assurance frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with various departments to aid in program execution and foster continuous enhancement.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative leader with a sound grasp of asset management, preferably in electricity distribution. Strong capability in leveraging data, models, and technology for informed decision-making is essential. Organizational skills, decisiveness, and a commitment to ongoing improvement in safety, service, and operational excellence are critical.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in asset management or closely related sectors.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- In-depth knowledge of electricity distribution assets and lifecycle planning methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical competencies.
- Experienced in working with business and asset management software platforms.
