Role Overview
This position focuses on managing and optimizing the Asset Management lifecycle within an organization. The role requires overseeing various tools and organizational units to ensure an efficient asset lifecycle process that complies with legal, statutory, and corporate requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of the asset management process and associated tools.
- Ensure administrative teams handling asset receiving and tagging execute their responsibilities accurately, providing training and documentation as needed.
- Incorporate customer inputs about regulatory compliance into the asset management procedures, including decommissioning and disposal.
- Collaborate with tools administrators and configuration managers to refine asset discovery, reconciliation, and database accuracy.
- Lead long-term strategy and phased rollout planning aligned with configuration management efforts.
- Develop audit schedules and governance to correct process deviations and implement preventative measures.
- Maintain and simplify process documentation for operational clarity, managing version control and secure release.
- Recommend improvements to foundational data, workflow, report standardization, and tools customization.
- Manage formal change requests (RFCs), document releases, use cases, testing, and participate in release management.
- Communicate SLA targets and generate process performance reports, analyzing root causes of any shortfalls to drive improvements.
- Keep processes current with business changes and feedback, aligning with service management best practices.
- Engage in training programs addressing process and ITIL service management needs.
- Ensure asset management aligns with corporate policies and maintain software asset management including licenses and definitive software libraries.
- Define roles and procedures for asset receipt, verification of shipments, and handling discrepancies.
- Apply depreciation, retention, retirement, and disposal policies in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate responsibilities with security teams responsible for physical assets and teams owning technical asset maintenance.
- Track warranty and support contract status to identify assets nearing end of support.
