Asset Location Officer

About the role

We are seeking a dependable Asset Location Officer to join a hands-on field delivery team that helps safeguard Tasmania’s underground network assets. This is a Level 6 position with a base pay of $99,632 per year, plus superannuation.

The position is based in Devonport, Tasmania, and focuses on safety, precision, and strong service for both internal teams and customers.

What you will do

• Work closely with field crews and contractors on underground service location activities.
• Supply accurate plans, maps, and asset-related information.
• Identify and physically mark underground assets to reduce the risk of damage.
• Support the location of underground faults.
• Attend faults quickly and safely.
• Help maintain a practical, flexible, results-driven team culture.

About you

You are self-driven, hands-on, and comfortable working independently in the field as well as collaborating with others. You communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships, and consistently follow safe work practices and procedures.

Experience and qualifications

• Hands-on experience in fault finding.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Experience using SAP is preferred.
• Required licences and qualifications include RIICCM202D – Identify, Locate and Protect Underground Services, White Card, a current driver’s licence, and Instructed Person qualification.
