About the role
Manukau Institute of Technology and Unitec are looking for a proactive and well-organised coordinator to join the Tamaki Property Services team in a permanent, full-time position. This role suits someone with energy, a positive outlook, and a practical approach to getting things done efficiently.
Reporting to the Team Lead - Facilities, you will help support, track, and assess a variety of business activities across Property Services and the wider MIT & Unitec operation in the Tamaki area. A major part of the role is to keep asset records, systems, and property information accurate and dependable so the organisation can make sound decisions. You will also help shape and document improved processes through monitoring and reporting.
Key focus areas
- Maintaining asset data standards and ensuring data is captured correctly
- Managing as-built asset information
- Supporting the Asset Management system
- Assisting with the Property and Campus Services Capex process
- Supporting building and floor plan updates, including CAD changes and space planning
- Handling asset system administration
- Preparing performance reports
- Supporting performance and development management activities
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will bring a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 3 years of experience in areas such as analytics, planning and reporting, asset planning, policy development, or similar work. Strong computer skills are essential, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
You should also be commercially aware, have hands-on experience in business improvement planning and delivery, and be confident working with a wide range of people. Prior exposure to CAD, GIS, or similar spatial systems is important, and experience with asset management platforms would be an advantage. A full, valid New Zealand driver's licence is required and must be kept current.
The role calls for excellent interpersonal ability, including negotiation and conflict resolution, along with a sharp eye for detail, strong organisation, and the ability to solve complex issues independently while keeping relationships constructive and collaborative.
