Position Overview

The Arts and Culture department is tasked with delivering a vibrant program that enhances the cultural life and liveability of Western Downs. This role involves leading and supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of various arts, culture, heritage, and public art projects throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, organize, implement, and assess arts, cultural, heritage projects, exhibitions, and public artworks that enrich the region's cultural environment and foster audience participation and growth.
  • Promote and facilitate initiatives that enhance regional cultural skills, offering professional development opportunities for artists, arts professionals, and volunteers.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships and communication channels with industry partners, community groups, and internal stakeholders concerning arts, culture, and heritage.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications in Arts, Business Administration, Cultural Development, or a related discipline or demonstrate equivalent experience. A passion and understanding of the arts, culture, heritage, and cultural development sectors is essential. Additionally, candidates must hold a current Queensland Driver's License and either possess or be able to obtain a National Police History Check and a Working with Children Blue Card.
