About the Role
BASIS Plano is inviting applications for an Art Teacher dedicated to educating students in grades 3 through 5. The selected teacher will be responsible for delivering exceptional instruction through well-prepared and engaging lesson plans, using the BASIS Curriculum as a foundation while integrating their own expertise and enthusiasm for art.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to art for 3rd to 5th grade students.
- Offer advanced instruction beyond standard grade levels within an interactive environment to maximize student achievement.
- Implement the BASIS Curriculum with creativity to ensure students receive an internationally competitive education.
- Collaborate with fellow BASIS educators to enhance curriculum content and foster a supportive community of education professionals.
- Provide tutoring in subject-specific concepts and skills to advance academic and career prospects.
- Maintain disciplined classroom management fostering intellectual growth, responsibility, individuality, and respect.
- Assist with non-teaching duties like supervision during early arrivals, late stays, and lunch periods.
- Ensure consistent and punctual attendance.
- Supervise individual students and groups safely during school activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the relevant subject area or at least 24 credit hours in art combined with another degree.
- Possession of a valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in art or education from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years of teaching or educational experience.
