About the Role
Located at the Army Reserve Centre in London, this full-time position requires a hands-on Storekeeper to join the Quartermasters (QM) Department within the UK Ministry of Defence. Working closely with both civilian and military teams, the role is primarily onsite and customer-facing, demanding a well-organized, friendly, and adaptable individual. The position involves managing daily store operations with a commitment of 37 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily store management activities including issuing and receipt of equipment to personnel.
- Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of equipment.
- Keep accurate documentation for stock accounts and audits.
- Assist Duty Officers in conducting daily and weekly checks.
- Use MOD stock control and inventory systems with training provided.
- Physically handle equipment and supplies, including lifting, carrying, loading and unloading (lifting limits: men 25kg, women 16kg).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Effective workload management capabilities.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic literacy and digital skills.
- Possession of a full Category B driving licence.
- Ability to adapt quickly and positively to changes.
- Knowledge of manual handling safety practices.
Additional Information
The role includes a salary of £24,549 plus an employer pension contribution of £7,111 towards a defined benefit pension scheme. Applicants must comply with MOD policies including smoke-free workplace regulations and are subject to a six-month probation if new to the Civil Service. Travel expenses for interviews will not be reimbursed. The position does not provide relocation support and is not open for visa sponsorship. A criminal record and baseline personnel security check will be conducted, along with a medical assessment on appointment.
