Role overview
This role is focused on keeping store presentation fresh, consistent, and aligned with brand standards across the East region. The position reports to the Senior Regional Visual Merchandiser for West and East and is based in Pune, while the job title references the Greater Kolkata Area.
About the role
The main purpose of the position is to continuously improve the store’s visual appeal and overall shopping atmosphere. The role supports the rollout of campaigns, zoning plans, and key brand initiatives while helping stores deliver a stronger customer experience and better sales outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain campaign displays, zoning plans, and other priority brand rollouts across stores.
- Improve the shopping experience through regular store visits and visual audits.
- Build visual merchandising capability in stores by training teams on brand standards and presentation techniques.
- Strengthen brand image, customer engagement, and sales through creative in-store execution.
- Prepare and share monthly beat plans covering all store formats.
- Bring fresh ideas and creative execution to lighthouse stores.
- Conduct physical and virtual audits, plus training sessions, to ensure merchandising standards are followed consistently.
- Plan, order, and coordinate installation of VM materials for seasonal and monthly store updates.
- Train store management and support teams on merchandising standards, fixture usage, and display methods.
- Compile and send weekly and monthly reports to head office, then implement the feedback received.
- Develop and manage a vendor network for branded supply elements in the region.
- Encourage in-store VM innovation through training, competitions, store audits, and VM captains.
- Support key initiative rollouts across all store formats.
- Allocate budgets effectively while staying aligned with broader business goals.

Team and vendor interface
Internal stakeholders include the Visual Merchandising, Sales Operations, Projects, and Merchandising teams. External coordination includes hanger vendors, mannequin vendors, and print media vendors.
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a Visual Merchandiser or Visual Manager.
- Strong visual design ability backed by a solid retail merchandising portfolio.
- Hands-on experience in field visual merchandising, including window displays, signage, interior displays, and space planning.
- Comfort using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, and related design tools.
- Good understanding of current VM trends and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of photography.
- Creative thinking with an innovative approach.
- Ability to interpret sales merchandising reports and survey findings.
- Degree in visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, exhibition design, visual communication, or a related field; bachelor’s or master’s level.
- Strong analytical ability for tracking and reviewing execution numbers.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
