Role Overview
The position of Area Sales Manager covers the territories of Togo and Benin. This role focuses on leveraging existing expertise in PPE or workwear sales to promote and sell Portwest products through distributor networks within the specified region. It is a dynamic field-based sales role that requires both autonomous work and collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager to drive business growth and reinforce the company's presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture strong business relationships with both new and current clients.
- Conduct face-to-face daily sales meetings to maintain and expand relationships with distributors and end customers in the assigned region.
- Spot new sales opportunities and formulate comprehensive sales strategies.
- Apply consultative, solutions-oriented selling techniques to continuously acquire new business.
- Identify high-potential existing clients and devise strategic plans for further development.
- Provide tailored Portwest solutions that address customer requirements effectively.
- Prepare clear, compelling written proposals and quotations for prospects and existing customers.
- Promote new product lines by presenting samples during meetings.
- Ensure diligent follow-up after meetings to successfully close sales deals.
- Gain and maintain up-to-date market knowledge through participation in trade shows, seminars, and exhibitions.
- Drive substantial growth within targeted industry segments and designated sales channels.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of sales experience in PPE, workwear, or safety apparel preferred.
- Background in sales within manufacturing, distribution, reselling, or agency environments.
- Proven ability to design and implement aggressive sales expansion plans.
- Strong ambition to accelerate Portwest's growth through field sales efforts.
- Capability to convert business initiatives into measurable financial outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation prowess.
- Positive outlook with a competitive drive to succeed.
- Proven team player willing to collaborate effectively.
