Job description
Role summary
This position is responsible for steering marketing activities for the assigned area, including product management, minimum price setting, and marketing plan execution. The role works closely with area marketing managers and marketing leaders across other regions.
Business context and challenges
The main objective is to improve profitability for Birla Carbon by managing area-level marketing requirements, supporting RFQ activities, and driving work related to marketing plans, minimum pricing, and promotional initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Product management
- Assist with product management work such as price and margin analysis, scenario building for prices and volumes, and optimizing the plant portfolio.
- Take part in the S&OP process.
Marketing plans
- Prepare and maintain marketing plans for the area in line with the company’s marketing plan template.
- Help drive implementation of those plans.
Pricing
- Set and revise minimum prices for products made on the area’s assets.
- Support the Sales Head and Sector Heads in large annual RFQ processes.
- Assist sales teams with local RFQs and related tasks as needed.
Team development
- Support the growth and development of marketing managers to improve performance and encourage professional advancement.
Reporting
- Use reporting tools to find leakage or unusual results that need further review.
- Work with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Technology teams to resolve issues.
Branding, events, and trade shows
- Contribute to regional teams involved in trade shows and events across the region.
- Review the impact of marketing programs and suggest as well as implement improvements when required.
New product development and capital projects
- Support new product development and capital projects by preparing business cases and business plans.
