Area Manager - Mass Retail

Role Overview

The position reports to the Zonal Business Manager and holds a senior managerial level focused on spearheading the frontline Territory Sales Managers (minimum two direct reports). The primary objective is to vigorously promote the sales of Airtel's products and services while leading various stakeholders within the distribution network across assigned territories to accomplish sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and expand the distribution and sales network by maximizing the number of SIM and data selling points within the designated cluster.
• Boost market presence and customer base by ensuring sales growth in high revenue items and applications.
• Create monthly strategies based on comprehensive analysis of market trends, competition, and related reports to elevate sales revenue.
• Oversee channel partners to improve distribution fundamentals including channel profitability and satisfaction.
• Lead and mentor a team of Territory Sales Managers while coordinating with marketing communications, customer service, and marketing departments to meet business performance indicators.
• Deliver competitive market intelligence and actionable feedback to the marketing team.
• Coach Territory Sales Managers on achieving business goals and preparing them for higher responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent (PGDM/MBA).
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in telecommunications, FMCG, or related sectors.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing sizeable teams.
• Effective collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical thinker with adept problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset coupled with persuasive communication skills.
