Job Overview
The role involves managing the Risk Containment Unit (RCU) to ensure secure and risk-free customer onboarding along with executing investigations and other related tasks aligned with the organization's objective of leading the affordable finance sector through prudent risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall RCU processes including pre-sanction sampling, fraud detection, and reporting in the assigned location.
- Monitor fraud detection metrics such as monthly fraud hit rates and notional savings achieved through fraud prevention.
- Manage vendor and agency partnerships in the assigned region focusing on process turnaround time, cost control, MIS and portfolio management.
- Ensure error-free management and reporting through efficient vendor monitoring, escalations, and timely submission of MIS and billing documents.
- Drive digital initiatives including utilization and monitoring of tools like Hunter for fraud detection and internal in-house checks.
- Conduct thorough investigations involving customers, channels, and vendors to identify fraud points and implement deterrent measures.
- Collaborate with internal departments to cross-check reports and identify any compromise at the sourcing stage.
- Regularly review collection data to proactively discover gaps and suggest improvements.
- Conduct training programs for samplers, business units, underwriters, and vendor FCU teams to improve quality and delivery standards.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the capabilities of samplers and vendors, including face-to-face interactions for effective fraud identification.
- Manage asset verification processes and identification of new fraud triggers.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must possess a solid understanding of current market practices in fraud detection, investigation, and analytics. A minimum of three years’ progressive experience managing fraud detection processes within NBFCs/HFCs related to mortgage business is essential.
