Job description

Role Overview

Aditya Birla Capital is hiring an Area Collections Manager for unsecured flow portfolios in Madhya Pradesh. The role focuses on improving collections outcomes, reducing delinquency, controlling credit losses, and strengthening recovery efforts across the assigned area.

Key Result Areas

The position is expected to deliver strong collections performance while supporting team execution and operational control. Core outcomes include meeting area-wise collection targets and financial goals, keeping delinquency under control, reducing credit losses, and improving resolution efficiency. The role also involves maintaining appropriate staffing coverage across locations, buckets, and segments, limiting charge-offs, improving recovery from charged-off accounts, and controlling the cost of collections activities.

Portfolio Review and Monitoring

  • Track customer accounts across the region and identify accounts that may default or pay late.
  • Work with borrowers who are in default to design effective recovery actions.
  • Create management information reports with multiple cuts and trend views to highlight performance gaps and support corrective action by the collections team.
  • Share regular insights with management and internal stakeholders such as Sales, Risk, and Policy teams on recovery performance, delinquency patterns, negative geographies, adverse profiles, non-starters, skips, fraud-related cases, and similar issues.

Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with external agencies to ensure collections processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Support the selection process for outside agencies.
  • Keep a close watch on agency productivity and adherence to expectations.
  • Maintain strong control over agency operations to ensure overdue amounts are recovered on time.

Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure all collections-related records are maintained in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle customer complaints linked to the collections process and work toward outcomes that are fair to both the company and customers.
  • Plan and carry out periodic audits of collections teams to confirm compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Customer Escalations and Complaints

  • Work with the legal team and senior leadership on escalated matters while ensuring all actions remain compliant with relevant regulations.

People Management

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the team to improve execution and capability.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure regular functional and behavioral training for team members.
  • Contribute to talent development and people-management initiatives to maintain a strong pipeline and an engaged team.

Additional Information

This role requires daily monitoring of the delinquent portfolio and regular reviews to support account-level decision-making. The job also includes maintaining operational discipline, ensuring agency oversight, and driving continuous improvement across collections processes.
