Job description

Overview

This contractor position offers a remote opportunity to lead quality assurance efforts in architecture and design-focused AI training projects. The role involves supervising the quality and consistency of AI-generated outputs across architecture, interior design, urban design, and built-environment domains. The lead will assess design accuracy, spatial reasoning, architectural terminology, building systems knowledge, safety and code compliance, sustainability, visual logic, clarity, and adherence to project rubrics to uphold high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control by reviewing architecture and design deliverables, identifying errors, providing timely and clear written feedback, and escalating critical or repetitive issues.
  • Evaluate generated explanations, spatial layouts, design concepts, material and building system recommendations, accessibility, and reasoning for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Communicate updates on guidelines, workflow changes, and standards to trainers and QA teams through platforms like Discord.
  • Address queries from trainers and QAs related to spatial logic, design terms, sustainability, construction feasibility, and rubric interpretation without delay.
  • Manage contributor engagement by encouraging inactive members and tracking their participation, while highlighting availability concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive project documentation including style guides, trackers, FAQs, onboarding materials, calibration items, and quality notes.
  • Conduct onboarding and training sessions to explain workflows, quality expectations, and architecture/design review criteria to trainers and QA members.
  • Ensure consistent application of review guidelines across all contributors and communicate evolving updates effectively.
  • Identify and flag unsafe, inaccessible, impractical, misleading, or code-insensitive design recommendations promptly.
  • Drive process improvements by spotting recurring quality issues and recommending enhancements to QA workflows tailored for architecture/design AI projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or professional qualification in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent command of English to understand project instructions, interact with remote teams, and provide coherent written feedback.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in architecture, interior or urban design, design research, construction documentation, teaching, design evaluation, visualization, or relevant built-environment processes.
  • Deep understanding of design principles including spatial organization, circulation, scale, proportion, material choices, accessibility standards, sustainability principles, building systems, construction logic, and effective design communication.
  • Ability to assess architecture and design content against detailed rubrics to detect impractical designs, spatial errors, code violations, poor design rationale, accessibility gaps, unsafe assumptions, or unrealistic construction suggestions.
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, BIM software, construction drawings, precedent and site analysis, rendering, or presentation methods is advantageous.
  • Experience managing or collaborating with remote teams including designers, reviewers, annotators, educators, and QA experts is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic remote settings utilizing communication and project management tools like Discord, Google Sheets, Docs, trackers, and dashboards.
  • Highly meticulous with strong organizational skills to uphold style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding processes, calibration tasks, and documentation maintenance.
  • Prior exposure to AI training, data annotation, large language model evaluation, design or visual QA, architectural review, or rubric-driven assessment is an asset.
