Architectural Design Staff

Role overview

BRR Architecture is looking for an Architectural Design Staff member to support architectural design and technical production under the guidance of an Architect or Project Manager. The role is part of a collaborative team and contributes across all phases of the architectural process, from early concepts through documentation and construction administration.

Core responsibilities

• Work alongside project teams throughout every stage of architectural design.
• Create and develop design ideas using sketches, digital models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual tools.
• Take part in schematic design, site selection, and building analysis work.
• Prepare and update architectural documents such as site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other building systems to align with the design intent.
• Review materials, building products, constructability, and related processes.
• Prepare presentation materials for clients and internal reviewers, and support presentation delivery.
• Communicate with design team members to ensure details are coordinated across disciplines.
• Assist with code review, building systems selection, and permitting responses.
• Use BIM tools to create and develop 3D building models and related components.
• Support construction contract administration tasks.
• Attend project coordination sessions, team meetings, and consultant meetings as needed.
• Take ownership of the accuracy and completeness of assigned work.
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Support sustainable design efforts.
• Participate in studio events and contribute to team activities.
• Continuously look for better ways to complete assigned work and follow studio and company standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A professionally accredited degree in Architecture is required.
• 2 to 5 years of architecture-related experience.
• Licensure is not mandatory for this position.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to understand and explain complex architectural issues, including functional and aesthetic considerations.
• Strong creative thinking and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to communicate ideas visually.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, team-based environment.
• Ability to contribute to architectural research, document development, design development, peer consultation, and broader implementation efforts.
• Detail-oriented approach with a strong respect for confidentiality and sensitive information.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is essential.
• Interest in researching and applying new technology in architectural practice.
• Work is primarily office-based and computer-based.
• Travel is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
