Role overview
This full-time, on-site role in Singapore is for an Architectural Assistant or Senior Architectural Assistant within SJ Group. The position supports project delivery across design, technical coordination, documentation, and regulatory compliance, with the senior level considered for candidates who bring the required experience.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Project Director, Associate, or Architect, while meeting project goals and maintaining quality standards.
- Assist the team with design development, technical matters, and interpretation of building codes and regulations.
- Contribute to feasibility studies and the design stage of projects.
- Review and interpret information gathered from site investigations and analyses.
- Help prepare documentation for conceptual design and detailed design development.
- Coordinate with consultants on design matters, technical interfaces, and regulatory requirements.
- Support tender documentation, contract administration, and related project paperwork.
- Collect and organise information needed for approvals under applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Assist in procurement-related work.
- Attend meetings with site teams and consultants to resolve design, technical, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate closely with team members on shared assignments and project deliverables.
- Produce modelling and drawings using Revit, CAD, or hand sketching where required.
- Use digital platforms and computational model outputs to support pre-design and design activities.
Requirements and qualifications
- A degree in Architectural Studies, BA (AS), BSc, or BArch is required.
- Strong working knowledge of design tools and visualisation software, including AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, BIM tools such as Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
- Good understanding of planning rules, building codes, and regulatory processes.
- Must be organised, accurate, and comfortable working with analytical tasks.
- Should be proactive, able to work independently, and manage time well under demanding deadlines and client expectations.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with others are important.
- Fresh graduates may apply; applicants with relevant experience may be assessed for the Senior Architectural Assistant position.
