Job description
Role overview
This position is part of the Travel Retail architecture team for Dior Parfums and is responsible for supporting retail project development and delivery across a range of store formats and levels of complexity. The role combines hands-on architectural design with project management responsibilities.
For flagship initiatives, the role functions as a project manager, coordinating multiple stakeholders, controlling budgets and timelines, and making sure execution matches brand ambitions, operational needs, and quality expectations. For B and C projects, the role shifts into a design specialist capacity, preparing architectural drawings and technical documents, adapting global brand concepts to local requirements, and supporting implementation with internal and external partners.
The overall objective is to ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with Maison identity, group standards, local regulations, and sustainability goals.
Project leadership
- Take ownership of flagship projects from the first scope discussions through execution, handover, and post-opening review.
- Handle B and C projects as a design-focused specialist by preparing and adapting the technical design package for delivery.
- Maintain a consistent project approach while adjusting methods based on size, budget, and business priorities.
Design development and technical output
- Convert creative concepts into buildable, construction-ready documentation while considering feasibility, regulations, and technical limitations.
- Prepare plans, layouts, and technical materials that reflect the creative brief, brand standards, and operational requirements.
- Assess and confirm drawings, materials, finishes, and technical solutions to protect quality, longevity, and brand consistency.
- Support the selection of materials and finishes so they meet visual, functional, and cost targets.
Coordination and project execution
- Work closely with HQ architecture, purchasers, visual merchandising, construction teams, contractors, and suppliers to keep projects moving smoothly.
- Serve as a central contact point for major stakeholders and reinforce accountability throughout the project chain.
- Assist with tendering, procurement, site follow-up, and implementation tasks across all project types.
- Spot project risks, solve technical challenges, suggest practical alternatives, and adjust plans when required to protect schedules and quality.
Site supervision and quality control
- Visit sites to check progress, confirm alignment with the design intent, and prepare reporting for HQ.
- Monitor execution quality and provide ongoing technical support.
- Respond quickly to site issues and recommend workable, compliant solutions.
- Make sure all work meets Maison standards, local requirements, and sustainability expectations.
Budget, timeline, and performance tracking
- Create and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables according to the complexity of the project.
- Support cost control and design-to-cost optimization, especially on flagship projects.
- Track performance indicators such as timing, cost, quality, and operational readiness.
- Deliver structured updates to management and stakeholders, including risks, delays, and mitigation actions.
Brand alignment and collaboration
- Ensure each project reflects the Maison image, desired client experience, and operational needs.
- Adapt international architectural guidelines to local market conditions and regulations.
- Communicate technical needs, timelines, and priorities clearly to all internal and external partners.
Profile
The ideal candidate is an architect with 4 to 5 years of experience in retail design, preferably within the beauty and cosmetics sector. Strong technical capability, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-moving environment are important for success in this role.
