Role Summary
The Aramco Approved Radiographic Testing Film Interpreter reviews radiographic films and digital images to detect, assess, and categorize weld and material discontinuities in line with Aramco and other applicable international standards. The position requires accurate interpretation of RT findings, preparation of clear technical reports, compliance with project specifications and codes, and close coordination with NDT technicians, quality inspectors, and project engineers to address identified issues.
Work Setup
This is a full-time hybrid position in Saudi Arabia. Work will mainly be performed at project or client locations, with some flexibility to handle documentation, reporting, and remote review tasks from home when appropriate.
Key Duties
- Examine radiographic films and digital images to identify weld and material defects.
- Interpret RT outcomes according to Aramco requirements and relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and well-structured reports.
- Ensure all findings align with project specifications and governing procedures.
- Work with NDT technicians, QA/QC personnel, quality inspectors, and project engineers to clarify and resolve results.
- Maintain organized records and supporting documentation.
- Take part in audits and support ongoing improvement of NDT methods and procedures.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Strong capability in radiographic film interpretation, including weld assessment, material evaluation, defect identification, and use of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, API, and Aramco requirements.
- Practical experience in NDT work, particularly radiographic testing, with exposure to related techniques such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, or dye penetrant testing.
- Good understanding of quality systems, inspection workflows, and technical documentation within industries such as oil and gas, power, and heavy industry.
- Ability to produce precise technical reports, preserve accurate records, and communicate results clearly to engineering, QA/QC, and project management teams.
- Relevant credentials including Aramco approval for RT film interpretation, ASNT Level II or an equivalent RT qualification, and other recognized NDT certifications.
- Knowledge of radiation protection and safety rules, along with a strong commitment to compliant and safe work practices.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Preferably a diploma or degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field.
