Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inspiring lessons that motivate students to achieve outstanding academic results.
- Collaborate effectively as part of the teaching team to plan and execute curriculum-compliant lesson plans.
- Communicate clearly and maintain robust positive relationships among all school stakeholders including teachers, students, and parents.
- Work alongside colleagues and curriculum support staff to enhance student development, adapting plans as necessary.
- Engage with parents to promote student happiness and academic success.
Instructional Duties
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the curriculum requirements.
- Organize classroom layouts and educational resources, and develop displays that create an engaging learning atmosphere.
- Prepare and deliver sessions tailored to the full spectrum of student abilities.
- Use dynamic and imaginative teaching methods to motivate learners.
- Perform assessments and maintain records consistent with school protocols, including Target Tracker.
- Reflect on teaching effectiveness and adjust strategies and environment accordingly.
- Collaborate with external professionals like speech therapists and psychologists when necessary.
- Embed the Teacher and Learner DNA ethos consistently across curriculum delivery.
Assessment and Student Progress
- Take accountability for student progress within assigned classes.
- Implement assessment strategies and record keeping to monitor growth.
- Utilize assessment data to inform further planning and interventions.
- Provide constructive progress feedback to parents during conferences and meetings.
Behaviour Management and Other Duties
- Adhere to and enforce the school’s behavior policies.
- Manage classrooms effectively to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils, maintaining high standards of conduct.
- Serve as a positive role model demonstrating desired behaviors and values consistently.
- Encourage self-control and independence among learners.
- Perform additional duties designated by the school policy.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in curriculum action groups to assist with planning, assessments, resources, and activities.
- Support school events, including outings and extracurricular activities which may occur during evenings or weekends.
- Communicate student achievements and welfare updates to parents using school systems such as CPOMS.
- Contribute positively to the school’s culture and ethos.
- Lead a weekly Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA) each term.
