Role overview
This position is responsible for overseeing the rollout, upkeep, and continuous improvement of application systems so they function as a dependable part of the country’s business operations. The role also focuses on aligning technologies, delivering application-related technology initiatives, and working with internal stakeholders and technology suppliers. System stability and resilience
- Keep applications available and dependable so IT service levels are met in line with business goals.
- Review current availability gaps and operational issues, then identify practical improvements that can be delivered at reasonable cost.
- Define availability expectations for new systems and for changes to existing applications.
- Improve infrastructure availability in ways that create measurable value for business teams and customers.
- Prepare and maintain availability reports that track agreed service, reliability, and maintainability levels.

- Partner closely with the change team to support new initiatives launched by the business, Government/TRA, and the group.
- Assist with UAT issues for new projects or enhancements, including sanity testing where needed.
- Create new products in the core banking application in response to new projects or business requirements, based on market and customer needs.
- Attend project meetings and conference calls from kickoff through completion.
- Help implement innovative solutions that address customer needs.
Business continuity and disaster recovery
- Participate in BCM and DR activities for all critical systems.
- Support the annual business continuity testing plan.
- Resume support for business functions and processes within the agreed recovery timeframe.
Support and operations
- Implement tariffs in the system based on business requests.
- Support and oversee audit activities carried out within the section.
- Handle incidents and update users once issues are resolved within the agreed SLA.
- Perform daily server health checks and restart servers or services when necessary.
- Prepare daily online, ATM, and maintenance transaction reports while on duty.
- Ensure no unauthorized transactions are processed on the FCC system before EOD/EOM runs.
- Confirm that all branch batches are closed before the system is handed over for EOD/EOM batch execution.
- Carry out EOD/EOM batch runs.
- Provide support for complex technical issues and work related to automation, systems, databases, and other technical products and services, especially in the context of an in-country primary data centre.
- Use diagnostic tools and other resources to troubleshoot, recover service, and restore data while considering the local primary data centre environment.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly in both spoken and written form so they are easy for the intended audience to understand.
- Take part in migrations from development to production, as well as upgrades, setup activities, and configuration tasks in the primary data centre.
- Investigate application issues using standard guidelines, templates, or direction from others.
- Understand quality, security, and compliance expectations for supported services and review changes for production risk.
- Follow formal change-control processes and related disciplines.
- Show curiosity about emerging technologies and be willing to evaluate and learn them.
- Apply logical problem-solving to trace faults to their source.
- Support production issues reported by end users and help deliver practical resolutions.
Qualifications and capability expectations
The role calls for a person who demonstrates basic analytical thinking, strong digital aptitude, an ability to contribute to team success, openness to change, and a focus on quality.
