Job description

Overview

A global multinational organisation is seeking an experienced APAC Compensation & Benefits Manager for a 1-year contract with a possible move into a permanent role. Based in Singapore and reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this position owns the full compensation and benefits lifecycle in an individual contributor capacity. The role sits at the centre of HR transformation and harmonisation work across Singapore and the wider Asia and MEA region.

The right candidate will bring strong expertise in job evaluation approaches such as Mercer, Aon, or similar frameworks, and will be comfortable advising business leaders on reward structures, market competitiveness, and total rewards strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, shape, and regularly improve the compensation and benefits framework for Asia and MEA so it stays aligned with global standards and local business needs.
  • Create and maintain reward programmes that are competitive in the market and support attraction, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Drive regional reward cycles covering base salary, incentives, bonuses, merit reviews, and promotions, while coordinating accurate HRIS updates with HR business partners.
  • Own job architecture activities, including job levelling, evaluation against the global career framework, and preparation of clear, consistent job descriptions.
  • Carry out market pricing and annual benchmarking for critical roles, maintain country salary ranges, and advise leaders on pay trends and shifts in the market.
  • Provide governance for compensation decisions linked to hiring and employee movements, including offers, internal pay equity, and competitiveness, in partnership with HRBPs and Corporate Compensation & Benefits.
  • Review and benchmark benefits packages to ensure they remain attractive locally, including medical, wellness, and allowance offerings, and assist with rolling out benefits for newly established entities when needed.
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to communicate the organisation’s total rewards offering in a way employees can understand and value.
  • Track total rewards metrics and use workforce data and insights to support decisions and ongoing improvements.
  • Coordinate with external vendors across the region where relevant to ensure programmes are delivered competitively, compliantly, and efficiently.
  • Use total rewards initiatives to strengthen employee engagement while monitoring market shifts and employee feedback to keep programmes relevant.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or another related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in total rewards, covering both compensation and benefits.
  • Proven background in building and managing salary structures and pay matrices.
  • Strong track record in benchmarking benefits and designing country-level as well as regional benefits programmes.
  • Practical, hands-on experience using SuccessFactors.

Additional Information

This opportunity is a 1-year contract-to-permanent role. The selected candidate will support a regional remit across Asia and MEA while operating from Singapore in an onsite arrangement.
