Job description

About the role

We are seeking several AML Analysts to join a busy Financial Crimes function. This opportunity is well suited to someone with practical experience in transaction monitoring, enhanced due diligence, and suspicious transaction reporting. In this position, you will support investigations, compliance work, and regulatory reporting while working closely with internal teams and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out daily activities that support the AML program.
  • Review transactions and contribute to active investigations.
  • Collect, assess, and document information used for case reviews.
  • Create accurate reports and keep thorough records.
  • Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other required regulatory filings.
  • Offer analysis and recommendations to help guide decisions.
  • Assist AML leadership with ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Take on other related tasks and project work as needed.

Required background

This role calls for solid hands-on experience in transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence. Candidates should understand how to work within FINTRAC requirements and be comfortable managing several priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting. Strong analytical ability, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills are important.

  • At least 2 years of experience in AML, financial crime, or compliance-related work.
  • Working familiarity with PCMLTFA/R, FINTRAC rules, and FATF recommendations.
  • Experience preparing and filing STRs or similar regulatory reports.
  • Exposure to tools such as Refinitiv, LexisNexis, Dow Jones, or Actimize is considered an asset.
  • CAMS or CFCS certification is an advantage.

Additional information

This is a contract opportunity based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The rate is CAD 23 per hour to CAD 33 per hour. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with 3 days per week required onsite. The role references multiple openings.
