Job description

Role overview

This onsite full-time position in Milford, Ohio is focused on reviewing AML alerts, analyzing suspicious activity indicators, and deciding whether cases should be closed or escalated. The work centers on protecting the organization from financial crime risks while supporting compliance with anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and OFAC requirements.

The role calls for someone who can investigate transaction behavior carefully, compare alerts against recent account history, maintain detailed records, and communicate findings clearly. A strong eye for detail, disciplined workflow habits, and the ability to work accurately in a structured, high-volume environment are essential.

Key responsibilities

You will examine alerts generated in FCRM and assess them for potential red flags such as structuring, unusual transaction patterns, high-volume activity, or notable changes in customer behavior. Each alert must be reviewed alongside recent account activity to understand context and determine whether the activity appears legitimate.

The job also involves researching customer profiles, validating information against internal records, and using internal systems plus outside sources to build a clear picture of the transaction background and any related risk indicators. Based on the findings, you will either close the alert with clear support for the decision or escalate it for deeper review by senior investigators or compliance teams.

Accurate documentation is a core part of the role. Findings, analysis, and decision rationale must be recorded in the required FCRM format in a way that is complete, precise, and ready for audit or regulatory review. You will also help strengthen AML controls by noticing recurring issues, gaps, or suspicious patterns that may improve future processes.

Technical and functional requirements

This role requires the ability to complete repetitive work with consistency, accuracy, and sustained concentration. You should be comfortable working within structured procedures, meeting production and quality expectations, and staying productive in a fast-paced setting over extended periods.

Strong analytical judgment is needed to review complex data, draw logical conclusions, and support decisions with evidence. You should also have a solid working understanding of AML concepts, including BSA rules, OFAC sanctions, and common anti-money laundering expectations, along with practical knowledge of financial products, transaction behavior, and typical red flags.

Good research ability, clear written and verbal communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook are also important for success in this position.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Criminal Justice, Accounting, or a closely related field is required, although equivalent experience may also be considered. The position calls for 2 to 4+ years of experience in AML, fraud, compliance, banking operations, or financial services.

Experience using case management or transaction monitoring platforms such as FCRM is helpful but not mandatory. Prior work in AML alert review, KYC, fraud investigation, or risk management is preferred, as is familiarity with customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence practices. Compliance-related certifications such as CAMS or CFE, whether completed or in progress, are also valued.

Benefits

The role includes access to a broad employee benefits package featuring discretionary annual incentive opportunities, medical coverage, dental and vision support, disability planning and insurance, pet insurance, family leave support, commuter benefits, and reimbursement for certification and training.

Additional offerings include vacation, sick leave, holidays, time off, legal assistance, 401(k), performance bonus, college fund support, student loan refinancing, auto and home insurance options, and identity theft protection.
