About the Role

Gritter Francona seeks a talented Animated Graphic/Visual Artist to plan, design, and deliver high-quality visual graphics, illustrations, animations, and multimedia assets. These materials will support educational video initiatives for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) National Center for PTSD. The position focuses on transforming clinically-based evidence into engaging and accessible animated content aimed at educating Veterans, trauma survivors, caregivers, healthcare providers, and the public about trauma, PTSD, treatments, and related conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and produce original animated graphics, illustrations, visual effects, and multimedia elements for educational videos and digital media.
  • Develop visual ideas that clearly communicate complex behavioral health and clinical subjects in an engaging manner.
  • Create animations that accurately depict evidence-based information about trauma, PTSD, effective therapies, recovery, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Design characters, settings, icons, infographics, motion graphics, and other visuals that enhance educational storytelling while maintaining consistency.
  • Produce visuals for diverse digital channels including websites, social platforms, presentations, and educational tools.
  • Work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts, scriptwriters, project managers, and government stakeholders to ensure scientific accuracy and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Translate storyboards, scripts, and creative briefs into impactful visual narratives that foster engagement with treatment and improve public comprehension.
  • Implement revisions based on government reviews, stakeholder feedback, and quality control procedures.
  • Ensure all visuals follow branding standards, accessibility rules, and Section 508 compliance.
  • Apply inclusive and culturally respectful design principles, sensitive to audiences with diverse traumatic experiences.
  • Maintain orderly project files, graphic assets, templates, and documentation to streamline production and updates.
  • Coordinate with production teams to smoothly integrate graphic components into final animated videos.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Animation, Digital Media, Fine Arts, or similar fields.
  • At least three years of experience creating animated graphics, visual designs, or multimedia content applicable to this role’s scope.
