Your Impact
As an Animal Care Attendant (ACA), you will work closely with animals in need, ensuring their well-being through compassionate care. Your contributions will offer comfort and support to these animals while helping them find their forever homes, giving you a fulfilling sense of accomplishment each day. You will become part of a dedicated team unified by their shared commitment and love for animals.
Role Overview
The ACA role is tailored for individuals experienced in animal care who enjoy enriching animal lives. Responsibilities focus on maintaining clean, healthy, and stimulating environments and fostering positive interactions with animals and clients alike.
Daily Duties
- Provide care and enrichment activities for animals including feeding, exercise, play, and engagement
- Maintain cleanliness: follow disinfection protocols, perform housekeeping tasks, laundry, and kennel sanitation
- Support animal health through supervised vaccinations, consultations with Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT), bathing, and grooming
- Keep accurate client records, document observations, and report health concerns to supervisors
- Participate in animal transportation to veterinary clinics as necessary
- Promote the center’s culture and goals through social media and fundraising participation
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical capability to lift up to 18 kg (40 lbs) and restrain 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Possess a valid G driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Clerical training and customer service experience are beneficial
- Preferred candidates have a certificate or college diploma in Animal Care or are actively pursuing one
