Job description
About the Role
Lyft’s mission is centered on connection and service, supported by a workplace where people feel included and can grow. The Marketplace organization powers the company’s growth by helping the marketplace run dependably and efficiently. Inside this organization, the Market Insights team focuses on the performance and expansion of Lyft’s most important regions.
Lyft is hiring an analyst to join Market Insights and help uncover the biggest opportunities across these regions while shaping company strategy. The role spans both long-range strategic work and fast-paced weekly operations, with ownership of high-impact business decisions. You will identify the most important gaps in the marketplace, develop business and product recommendations to close them, and work closely with cross-functional partners to drive measurable results.
What You Will Do
- Build deep expertise in rideshare marketplace trends and behaviors, and use that knowledge to help leaders make better data-driven decisions.
- Analyze data to pinpoint issues and growth opportunities in Lyft’s top regions, turn patterns into clear insights, and recommend practical next steps.
- Apply decision frameworks with a sharp analytical mindset to evaluate improvement areas and business expansion opportunities.
- Work closely with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and other functions to improve business outcomes, products, and strategy.
- Take initiative, act with ownership, and actively pursue work that creates real impact.
What We Are Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in analytics, statistics, economics, finance, marketing, or another quantitative discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in management consulting, strategic analytics or data science within a technology company, or a similar analytical role at a fast-growing startup.
- Hands-on experience analyzing datasets, identifying meaningful trends, and turning findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to work through ambiguous problems from analysis to recommendation to execution plan.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence partners across multiple teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and Excel or Google Sheets, along with solid quantitative analysis and data visualization skills.
- A self-directed, proactive mindset with a strong drive to identify opportunities and deliver results.
Benefits and Perks
- Medical and dental coverage options, plus life insurance and disability benefits.
- Mental health support.
- Support for family-building needs.
- Child care and pet-related benefits.
- Access to a company-funded Health Care Savings Account.
- RRSP savings plan.
- Flexible paid time off for salaried team members, with provincial holidays in addition to PTO; hourly team members receive 15 days of paid time off plus one extra day for each year of service.
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave top-up for biological, adoptive, and foster parents.
- Subsidized commuter benefits.
- Hybrid in-office model with at least 3 office days per week, including Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, plus the ability to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks each year.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodation
Lyft is committed to an inclusive and respectful workplace and provides equal employment opportunities regardless of protected characteristics under applicable law or company policy. The company also maintains a safe, harassment-free environment and offers workplace accommodations for disabilities upon request during the hiring process.
