Role overview
This position supports senior investment professionals with analytical and qualitative work focused on retail and office acquisitions. The analyst will help review markets, shape location-specific investment views, prepare detailed deal materials, and assist with underwriting and closing investment opportunities across office and retail properties.
The role calls for strong analytical ability, excellent organization, and clear communication. The successful candidate should be comfortable solving complex problems and applying sound judgment while developing within a real estate investment platform.
What you'll do
- Help originate new business by supporting the underwriting and execution of acquisition opportunities alongside the Perform Investments team, regional market leads, and Blackstone investment professionals.
- Build and maintain investment materials such as financial models, presentations, and memoranda that explain the opportunity and its risks in a clear way.
- Study market and submarket conditions by partnering with brokers and leasing teams to assess trends, fundamentals, and comparable transactions.
- Assist with acquisition capital budget preparation in coordination with asset management, development, operations, and regional teams.
- Support market-level deep dives that strengthen investment theses for both new and existing markets.
- Coordinate due diligence work and help move transactions through closing.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline, along with 1 to 3 years of investment experience. Backgrounds in investment banking, real estate, private equity, brokerage, or management consulting are preferred.
Strong Excel and financial modeling ability is required, including familiarity with IRR, NPV, and core real estate metrics. ARGUS experience is also required.
The role also requires a high level of independence, the ability to manage several priorities at once under tight timelines, attention to detail, and strong data and document organization. Clear written communication, professionalism, transparency, a collaborative approach, and comfort working in a fast-paced team environment are important. The position involves coordination with distributed teams across Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Atlanta, and quarterly travel is expected.
