About the Role
The Corporate Finance group in Toronto seeks a driven professional ready to contribute to one of Canada's largest Deal Advisory practices. As an Associate in Business Development, you will collaborate closely with Partners and Senior Vice Presidents to fuel practice growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish new client relationships within targeted sectors and markets.
- Research and initiate new market-centered strategies to source prospective clients.
- Maintain curated databases of prospective clients, including private equity portfolio companies and sector-specific high-priority targets.
- Expand a network of prospective clients consistent with KPMG Corporate Finance’s strategic market objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum three years of proven experience in business development, investment banking, and/or private equity; M&A experience is an advantage.
- Proficient with external financial databases such as CapitalIQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg, and Thomson Reuters.
- Strong technical finance knowledge, including understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals.
- Passionate about cultivating and sustaining client relationships, confident communicator, eager to learn and innovate.
- Aptitude for connecting leadership to new business opportunities.
- Dedicated to continuous learning, teamwork, and independent initiative.
- Proactive self-starter who can identify when guidance is needed.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary ranges from $58,000 to $107,500, potentially supplemented by bonuses. Salary placement depends on location, skills, competencies, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive rewards program.
