Role overview
The Analyst, Investments will support senior members of the investment team with both analytical and qualitative work focused on retail and office acquisitions. The position involves helping assess markets, building market-specific investment viewpoints, preparing detailed transaction materials, and assisting with underwriting and closing investment opportunities across office and retail assets.
The right candidate will bring strong analytical ability, solid organization, and clear communication skills, along with the judgment to solve complex problems and grow within a real estate investment platform.
Key responsibilities
- Help source and advance new business by supporting the underwriting and execution of acquisition opportunities alongside the Perform Investments team, regional market leads, and Blackstone investment professionals.
- Prepare and refine investment deliverables such as financial models, presentations, and investment memoranda that explain the opportunity and its risks in a clear way.
- Evaluate market and submarket conditions by partnering with brokers and leasing teams to study trends, fundamentals, and comparable transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of acquisition capital budgets while coordinating with asset management, development, operations, and regional teams.
- Take part in market-level deep dives that help shape investment theses for both new and existing markets.
- Support due diligence activities through to transaction closing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of investment experience, ideally in investment banking, real estate, private equity, brokerage, or management consulting.
- Ability to work on your own while managing several simultaneous priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong accuracy and organizational habits, especially when handling deal materials and data.
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to supporting investment decisions.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capability, with working knowledge of IRR, NPV, and core real estate metrics; ARGUS experience is required.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to turn complex analysis into concise investment memos and correspondence.
- Professional, transparent, and collaborative working style.
- Self-driven, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams across markets, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Atlanta.
- Willingness to travel on a quarterly basis.
