The position is designed as a development-focused pathway into a long-term technical aviation career, with a structured training plan delivered through an external training provider.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out assigned maintenance work and inspections under guidance, while meeting strict technical standards.
  • Follow aircraft maintenance manuals, checklists, and all safety requirements without exception.
  • Look after specialist tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly tracked and kept in good condition.
  • Record maintenance activities accurately in the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Contribute ideas that help improve team productivity and overall workplace performance.

What We’re Looking For

You should be a collaborative person with strong communication skills, good mechanical instincts, and close attention to detail. This role suits someone who is comfortable working in a structured, safety-driven environment and who values quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • NZ-recognised Aeronautical Engineering Certificate at Level 3 or Level 4.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow technical documentation.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • Clear commitment to safe work practices and high-quality output.
  • Ability to obtain and keep Airbus and RNZAF security clearances.

About the Employer

Airbus describes its people as its strongest asset and says it is committed to helping create a more connected, safer, and smarter world. The organisation emphasises diversity of thinking and an inclusive workplace where teams are supported to innovate and succeed.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Development support through structured external training, classroom learning, and on-the-job mentoring.
  • Flexible working approach aimed at supporting work-life balance and wellbeing.
  • Formal reward and recognition initiatives to acknowledge contributions and achievements.
