About the Role
UPS is offering an opportunity within a Fortune Global 500 organization for someone who wants to help shape airfreight operations in a dynamic, high-performance environment. This position suits a motivated professional who enjoys taking ownership, working with cross-functional teams, and improving processes that support both customers and business growth.
The role focuses on airfreight coordination, commercial support, and operational execution, with exposure to sales, marketing, compliance, and customer-facing work. It is designed for someone who can contribute independently while also partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Work with the supervisor to strengthen and develop airfreight forwarding products alongside teams such as Sales and Marketing.
- Coordinate daily shipment movements to ensure they match operational needs and customer commitments.
- Discuss and agree on charges with airlines or vendors, then apply margin rules to recommend selling rates.
- Check airline invoices for correctness and resolve any billing issues promptly.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource for airfreight processes and provide support for business tenders, including matters linked to customs and trade compliance.
- Carry out corrective measures assigned by management after audits or when operational issues are identified.
- Regularly assess work methods and refine them so they remain aligned with changing operational demands and customer expectations.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in any field is required; qualifications in Logistics & Supply Chain or Business Administration are preferred.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in airfreight or a related area.
- Solid understanding of IATA rules; Dangerous Goods certification or related knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Good awareness of customs and trade control rules; related certifications are beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate airfreight operations, including working directly with airlines, terminals, and internal teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to collaborate effectively across different organizational levels.
- Well-developed problem-solving, organization, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Prepared to work a 5.5-day week on afternoon or night shifts, with schedules from Monday to Friday 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm or 8:30 pm to 5:30 am (+1 day), and Saturday 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
