Air Freight Specialist

Role overview

Aramex is looking for an Air Freight Specialist in Riyadh to serve as the main contact for customers handling air freight questions and requirements. The position focuses on delivering tailored transport solutions, maintaining long-term client relationships, securing competitive pricing, managing shipments end-to-end, and backing the sales team in winning new opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and present air freight options that match each client’s needs and help ensure a high level of satisfaction.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support loyalty and repeat business.
• Handle claims, payment-related concerns, and delayed or pending shipments quickly and effectively.
• Manage shipments through the full cycle, from booking through final delivery.
• Support sales by preparing accurate quotations and actively following up on business prospects.
• Work closely with internal teams to coordinate freight movements and related logistics.
• Negotiate pricing with carriers, agents, and offices to achieve the most competitive rates for customers.
• Work toward and help exceed freight targets for assigned accounts through proactive account management.
• Escalate operational issues to management and keep customers updated on delays or disruptions.
• Track profit and loss performance and manage invoicing for jobs efficiently.
• Respond to air freight inquiries, prepare quotes, and coordinate with clients in local and international markets.
• Support better on-time delivery performance across serviced trade lanes through continuous follow-up and improvement efforts.
• Develop relationships with customers at station level to strengthen negotiation leverage and pricing outcomes.
• Partner with the regional pricing desk on RFQs, projects, and tender opportunities when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a closely related discipline.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in air freight forwarding.
• Good knowledge of global trade lanes, airlines, and air freight service offerings.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written communication, especially for professional email correspondence.
