The position also requires strong leadership, oversight of airworthiness, and the ability to coordinate work within broader operational dependencies while driving continuous improvement.
Core activities

- Keep personal and team task authorisations current for aircraft and component work in line with QAF requirements.
- Maintain an accurate personal logbook to show recent and current experience; sign other personnel’s logbooks where appropriate within trade and skill limits; and, if approved as a designated assessor, complete authorisation checks, task competency approvals, and review Pt 145 licence application packs before submission.
- Complete support tasks in the aircraft air and electrical bay facility required to remain compliant with MOE and QAF procedures.
- Assess faults and raise ad hoc work cards for any new issues discovered during maintenance.
- Ensure all maintenance work is properly recorded and that airworthiness records are kept up to date in the relevant IT or paper systems, with required reports compiled and issues escalated as needed.
Key accountabilities
- Set delivery targets, monitor progress, and build improvement plans that support effective regulatory performance.
- Prioritise work across one or more teams to improve efficiency and resource use.
- Review escalated issues for any effect on continuing airworthiness and either resolve them effectively or escalate them to management when required.
- Make sure all Part 145 work is documented correctly and that airworthiness records are maintained on the proper systems.
- Ensure all Part 145 activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced, and authorised staff.
- Integrate Part 145 activities into wider business operations and involve key stakeholders throughout the process.
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to team members.
- Follow the regulatory framework, internal procedures, and applicable standards, and recommend changes where necessary.
- Promote Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management, and Safety Assurance across the Part 145 team, including proactive hazard identification and mitigation.
- Ensure team activities align with the Regulatory Governance and Assurance framework.
- Support process confirmations and independent assurance audits, respond to audit findings promptly, and contribute information to reviews.
- Develop and implement improvements to address non-compliance and check that corrective actions remain effective.
- Apply the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework and support regulatory-driven changes in maintenance operations.
- Maintain compliance with other applicable requirements such as ITAR, E&PW, and ISO.
- Follow all contractual obligations that apply to the role.
