Our platform transforms these comprehensive patient records into valuable datasets for life sciences research, regulatory processes, and market access, partnering with top biopharma and scientific organizations.
Role Overview
We seek a passionate Data & AI Contractor with interest in large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), and applied artificial intelligence. This part-time contract position (with contract-to-hire potential) provides the chance to work hands-on with AI-powered products and healthcare data solutions, collaborating across teams to develop innovative AI-driven tools that enhance productivity and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and experiment with applications using NLP and LLM techniques.
- Develop solutions involving semantic search, embeddings, summarization, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, AI agents, and prompt engineering.
- Analyze both structured and unstructured healthcare datasets to derive insights and improve product outcomes.
- Leverage state-of-the-art AI tools to enhance automation, research efficiency, and productivity across departments.
- Collaborate closely with Client Solutions, Engineering, Product, and Commercial teams to rapidly prototype and iterate AI-driven features.
- Translate business and research challenges into scalable, technical solutions.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and lay audiences.
- Support evaluating and implementing new AI workflows and tools within internal teams.
- Help establish efficient, repeatable project processes to streamline development.
Qualifications
- Approximately 1 to 3 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, software engineering, or similar technical roles.
- Proficient coding abilities in SQL and Python, particularly with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Strong foundational knowledge or self-guided experience with machine learning, modeling, statistics, and data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical solutions to diverse audiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with ambiguity and accelerating timelines.
- Highly organized with close attention to detail.
- Collaborative experience across teams is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience specifically with LLMs, NLP, semantic search, embeddings, summarization techniques, and RAG pipelines.
Preferred Extras
- Familiarity with Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, or cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Engagement in personal AI projects, hackathons, research activities, or contributions to open-source.
- Experience developing AI copilots, chatbots, or agent-oriented systems.
Work Environment and Benefits
- Opportunity to directly contribute to impactful AI products and longitudinal healthcare data challenges.
- Develop valuable expertise with cutting-edge AI technologies and innovative workflows.
- Collaborate with a driven, technical, and ambitious team.
- Flexible, part-time schedule designed to support career transitions into AI.
- Potential to convert to a full-time role through the contract-to-hire path based on mutual fit.
