About the Role
The AI Safety and Policy Expert will serve as a key protector of AI training datasets within a global AI community. This role involves carefully evaluating and labeling data to minimize risks and ensure the AI model learns to distinguish right from wrong and navigate complex, ambiguous situations. Your work will directly contribute to preventing harmful AI behaviors before they reach the end user.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety annotation by assessing AI-generated outputs against stringent guidelines to identify bias, misinformation, and forbidden content.
- Classify harmful content types such as hate speech, self-harm, and illegal activities to delineate clear model boundaries.
- Perform fact-checking to confirm the accuracy of model-generated claims using trusted external sources to avoid hallucinations.
- Interpret and apply detailed policy guidelines to difficult edge cases, ensuring consistent alignment of the AI model.
- Contribute feedback by reporting repeated model flaws to governance leads to update and refine global safety policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of one year professional experience related to the position.
- Native-level proficiency in your primary language, with deep understanding of cultural nuances and slang relevant to identifying harmful content.
- English proficiency at B1 (intermediate) level or above to follow guidelines and report safety issues effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during repetitive, high-stakes evaluation tasks.
- Possess at least a bachelor's degree in any field, with preference for humanities, social sciences, communications, or law.
Work Schedule and Location
This is a part-time, fully remote position requiring availability from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Indian Standard Time daily.
