Job description
Role Overview
Join a team focused on helping enterprise customers turn complex business problems into practical AI solutions within SAP environments. In this Riyadh-based role, you will collaborate with customers to uncover meaningful AI opportunities, then design and deliver end-to-end solutions in partnership with product, engineering, and customer delivery teams.
What You Will Do
- Work with Oil, Gas & Energy and Chemicals customers in Saudi Arabia to identify, rank, and shape AI use cases across S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
- Develop complete AI solutions covering data extraction and pipelines from SAP, model choice and integration through SAP Business AI or BTP services, and user interface or process integration.
- Run delivery cycles from proof of concept to pilot and production, incorporate user feedback, and support adoption in actual business workflows.
- Serve as the connection point between Riyadh Lab customers and SAP’s global product and engineering teams by relaying requirements, gaps, and recurring patterns into future roadmaps.
- Create reusable assets such as reference architectures, templates, and best practices that can be applied across Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
Core Expectations
You should be able to turn business problems into technical designs and deliver solutions that are ready for production. This position requires confidence in direct customer interaction, including discovery sessions, demonstrations, and discussion of technical trade-offs in clear business language. The role is highly collaborative and forward-deployed, so you should be comfortable taking full ownership, working with global teams, and focusing on measurable customer impact. Prior experience with local customers and partners is an advantage.
Required Technical Background
- Strong software engineering experience, ideally with Python, Java, or TypeScript, along with practical exposure to SAP BTP, integrations, and at least one major SAP area such as finance, supply chain, HR, or public sector.
- Solid understanding of data and AI/ML fundamentals, including data modelling, APIs, and common AI patterns such as forecasting, classification, and copilots or assistants.
- End-to-end knowledge of core Oil & Gas processes, including asset management, finance, procurement, and logistics across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
- End-to-end understanding of key Chemicals processes, including product lifecycle management, production planning, and environmental, health & safety.
- Familiarity with the utilities market, its development, sector-specific challenges, and SAP’s industry offerings.
- Confidence in customer-facing and partner-facing settings such as discovery workshops, demos, stakeholder management, and explaining technical trade-offs in business terms.
- Comfort with a forward-deployed working style that involves ownership, ambiguity, close collaboration with global teams, and a strong motivation to create tangible outcomes for customers.
Team Environment
You will be part of a growing AI and industry specialist group supporting customers in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The team combines AI depth, industry expertise, and regional knowledge to help organizations innovate, transform, and strengthen their market position.
The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and focused on turning complex challenges into scalable solutions. Curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning are highly valued, and new ideas are encouraged when they deliver real-world impact.
This opportunity suits someone who enjoys building new capabilities, stays customer-focused, and is energized by meaningful results in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
