Role Overview

This position is centered on leading the architectural design, ownership, and scaling of intelligent backend systems rather than solely feature delivery. The AI Lead will guide both technical strategy and execution in areas such as large language model (LLM) integrations, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, agentic AI workflows, and cloud-native backend systems for global projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and scale backend infrastructure powering AI applications
• Develop and implement RAG pipelines, AI agent frameworks, and LLM integrations
• Manage system architecture through deployment and scalability
• Integrate and optimize LLMs including Claude, GPT, and Gemini for practical production use cases
• Create high-performance distributed systems emphasizing observability and cost management
• Lead AI and backend projects with strong technical ownership
• Mentor engineering teams to enhance overall technical quality
• Collaborate closely with product and AI teams to deliver AI-native solutions

Required Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years experience in backend engineering
• Proficient in Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• In-depth knowledge of Generative AI and LLM-based systems
• Experience building RAG pipelines and working with vector databases like Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB, or Weaviate
• Understanding of Agentic AI concepts including autonomous agents and multi-agent workflows
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms in production
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and system design principles
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Familiarity with WebSockets, Git version control, Linux/Unix environments, and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Skills

• Experience using Anthropic Claude API and Claude Code
• Knowledge of real-time data systems or streaming technologies such as Kafka
• MLOps and AI system lifecycle management experience
• Skills in optimizing AI systems for latency, cost-efficiency, and scalability
