Job description
Role Overview
The AI Governance Lead will oversee the end-to-end governance of AI use cases in Qatar, ensuring they are tied to meaningful business decisions and strategic KPIs. This role focuses on turning AI opportunities into governed, decision-ready capabilities that deliver measurable value, while maintaining strong standards for trust, performance, and responsible use.
AI Use-Case Ownership and Decision Intelligence
- Own and maintain the portfolio of AI use cases so it stays aligned with the organization’s strategic KPIs.
- Make sure every AI initiative is connected to a specific business decision.
- Set success measures and define how each use case should improve decision outcomes.
- Clearly distinguish between descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive AI use cases.
- Filter out AI ideas that do not create meaningful decision or KPI value.
Conversion to AI Factory Requirements
- Translate business use cases into AI capability requirements centered on decision support.
- Specify the performance, usability, and trust standards expected from each solution.
- Serve as the main governance contact point with the AI Factory.
- Ensure AI outputs are suitable for real decision-making, not only technically accurate.
AI Lifecycle Governance and Accreditation
- Oversee AI governance from initial concept review through retirement.
- Define and apply accreditation standards before any AI capability is moved into production.
- Decide whether AI capabilities should be approved, paused, or retired based on decision effectiveness.
AI Performance, Drift, and Responsible AI
- Track model performance and identify signs of drift over time.
- Ensure Responsible AI and Explainable AI practices are consistently applied.
- Help decision-makers understand the limitations, assumptions, and risks behind AI outputs.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. A master’s degree is strongly preferred, and certifications in AI Governance or Responsible AI would be considered an advantage. The role calls for more than 10 years of experience in AI, analytics, data science, or decision intelligence environments, along with at least 5 years in AI governance, analytics governance, or AI assurance functions. Prior experience managing AI use cases that support executive or strategic decision-making is essential.
