Job description
About the Role
This role is focused on reviewing AI-assisted advisory material, spotting factual errors, and correcting inaccurate details in written reports. You will partner with senior advisors to make sure each statement in the firm’s counsel is backed by reliable evidence. The position acts as a quality checkpoint between automated research output and the exacting standards needed for board-level decisions.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity intended for someone at an early stage in their career. The work involves checking technical summaries, validating citations, and testing the reasoning in draft documents. Since the firm depends entirely on written work, this role helps safeguard the accuracy and integrity of the final record.
About JHC Consulting
JHC Consulting is a private advisory practice that advises chief executives and board committees on structural reorganizations and governance changes. The firm follows a distinctive approach: it does not use slide presentations or run consensus workshops. Instead, it produces authored memoranda that are kept as a lasting record of decisions. These documents are typically seven to ten pages long and are signed by one person. The method is designed to support accountability and intellectual rigor. Because clients depend on these reports for high-stakes decisions, the writing must be exact and every fact must be dependable.
Key Responsibilities
- Check each fact, figure, and statistic in draft memoranda against primary source material.
- Review citations to confirm that quotations and references are correctly attributed and used in the proper context.
- Inspect AI-generated research summaries for hallucinations or subtle misunderstandings of the source material.
- Examine public filings, corporate records, and regulatory documents to verify executive timelines and events.
- Prepare short, evidence-based notes for senior advisors when a claim cannot be confirmed.
- Organize source files so that the supporting material for each memorandum is easy to trace.
- Verify that footnotes and references follow the firm’s internal standards for clarity and formatting.
What We Need From You
- A careful, questioning mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Genuine interest in identifying small factual mistakes, such as an incorrect date or a misquoted statement.
- The ability to read dense documents and summarize them with complete accuracy.
- Comfort working independently and staying focused on one document for extended periods.
- Skill in explaining why a statement is incorrect without using emotional or subjective language.
- A consistently high standard for your own research and writing.
- No long corporate background is required, but you should be able to show strong research discipline and clear writing ability.
Working Style
The role is fully remote. The team values concentrated work and avoids overloading schedules with frequent video calls or meetings. You will receive clear tasks for the day and the freedom to complete them independently. Senior advisors offer direct feedback and help strengthen your analytical skills. The environment is quiet, disciplined, and centered on the quality of thinking. Intellectual honesty is expected in all communication.
What We Offer
- Permanent full-time employment with salary.
- A fully remote setup with no travel requirement.
- Direct guidance and mentorship from senior advisors in a specialized field.
- Exposure to complex governance and strategic issues at a high level.
- A work environment that protects time for deep, focused work.
- Access to a broad set of professional research databases and tools.
Additional Information
The firm places strong value on the written record as the most serious form of professional counsel. Analytical honesty is treated as essential to helping leaders make major decisions. Your work will support documents that create a stable foundation for the future of the organizations served by the firm.
