The Role

We are seeking an Agricultural Project Officer to join our Sustainable Agriculture team on an 18-month full-time contract. This position supports sustainable agriculture programs, including targeted extension initiatives and on-farm projects. Reporting to the Team Lead, the officer will oversee the delivery of assigned projects, ensuring all contracted targets and deliverables are met.

Key Duties

  • Complete assigned projects according to contractual agreements and deliverables.
  • Manage project administration tasks such as reporting and progress tracking.
  • Contribute to detailed planning including schedules, estimates, resources, and status updates.
  • Identify challenges and recommend solutions proactively.
  • Provide technical and analytical expertise for project execution.
  • Assist in delivering other Land Restoration Programs as needed.
  • Engage and negotiate with stakeholders including landholders and community members to achieve project goals.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds qualifications in Agricultural Science, Environment, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Skilled in collaborating with agricultural landholders and mindful of farming business challenges.
  • Experienced in on-ground project delivery compliant with Work Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management standards.
  • Capable of preparing and formatting technical documents, proposals, and data spreadsheets.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of natural resource management.
  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in engaging diverse stakeholders including First Nations, government, research entities, utilities, and community groups.
  • Holds a current Queensland manual driver's license.
