Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an Agricultural Parts Manager to oversee the parts operations in Alton and provide strategic leadership for the Winchester depot as well. Reporting to the Group Parts Manager, this role is key to boosting parts sales, ensuring outstanding customer service, cultivating high-performing teams, and managing parts inventory efficiently at both locations.
Leadership and Team Management
- Guide and inspire Parts teams at Alton and Winchester to foster a positive, customer-focused, and continuously improving work culture.
- Implement training, coaching, and performance management initiatives to enhance team skills.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and health and safety regulations.
Customer Service and Sales
- Provide exceptional parts services to retail, trade, and internal clients through various channels including in-store, phone, and online.
- Maintain and build strong relationships with key customer accounts across Hampshire.
- Proactively engage customers to maximize sales opportunities, including products related to garden, forestry, and associated machinery.
Commercial Management
- Take leadership responsibility for the performance of Parts departments in both depots.
- Track and optimize key metrics such as sales volume, profit margins, inventory turnover, and capital utilization.
- Apply consistent pricing, discounting, and promotional strategies.
- Identify new business growth opportunities and efficiency enhancements to raise profitability.
Inventory and Operational Control
- Maintain precise stock records and implement robust inventory control procedures.
- Manage stocktakes, cycle counts, and investigate variances diligently.
- Ensure critical product availability aligns with customer demand.
- Upkeep attractive showroom presentation and merchandising standards at both depots.
Supplier and Internal Collaboration
- Oversee supplier partnerships to guarantee service and product availability standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Service and Sales teams to meet customer needs and enhance workshop efficiency.
- Work alongside depot management and the Group Parts Manager to meet business goals.
Candidate Profile
Candidates should have experience in parts management within sectors like agricultural machinery, automotive, construction equipment, commercial vehicles, or plant operations. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated leadership capabilities, excellent customer service skills, sound commercial acumen related to sales and profit, strong organizational attention to detail, and experience with stock and inventory management. Proficiency with computer systems and dealership management software is required, and holding a full UK driving licence is necessary.
Experience with IBCOS software is a plus. Knowledge of agricultural, garden, or forestry machinery is advantageous, though training will be provided for suitable candidates. We welcome passionate parts professionals eager to lead and develop two thriving depot operations.
