Job Overview
Ferme Roberge et Gosselin inc., located in Saint-Pierre-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Quebec, is seeking a dedicated individual to carry out diverse agricultural and forestry duties. The position involves the preparation, maintenance, and harvesting of crops along with supplementary tasks related to farm equipment and infrastructure upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, plant, and nurture various crops by sowing, fertilizing, irrigating, pruning, weeding, and removing stones.
- Collect and ready crops for market including loading, unloading, and transportation activities.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on farming tools, machinery, buildings, and equipment.
- Undertake forestry management tasks such as identifying damaged or unhealthy trees, applying fertilization, tapping trees, harvesting, and assisting in syrup evaporation operations.
- Package and prepare syrup products for sale while maintaining related facilities and equipment.
Experience and Requirements
- Between 1 to 6 months of relevant work experience in agricultural fields or related roles.
- Physical capability to handle loads ranging 10 to 30 kilograms.
- Manual dexterity and aptitude for repetitive tasks.
- Basic proficiency in spoken and written French is expected at a low level.
