About the Role

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated After School Childcare Staff to lead and support engaging activities for children during the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time position focuses on providing a nurturing and educational environment for school-age children (ages 5-12) at program locations in Mora and Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Locations and Schedule

  • Los Ninos Elementary School
  • Sierra Vista Elementary School

Working days are Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with varied hours on Fridays between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all program activities and staff operations comply with state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and requirements from host schools.
  • Design and lead hands-on, engaging activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic support, arts, and homework assistance.
  • Manage daily administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, registrations, scheduling, and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
  • Maintain effective and ongoing communication with families through the Playground App to keep parents and caregivers informed.
  • Collaborate consistently with supervisors to share updates, resolve issues, and foster a positive and team-oriented working environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferably have at least one year of experience working with children under 13 years old.
  • Medical clearance confirming absence of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis.
  • Friendly, approachable, and upbeat personality with strong interpersonal skills. Professionalism, reliability, and punctuality are essential.
  • Physical ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, with the stamina to keep pace with children.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay between $12.00 and $16.00, paid every other Friday.
